Leaders are made
If leaders are born, then we are all leaders. Leaders are made; with that been said there are innate qualities that leaders do possess that other people do not. Northouse (2013) cited Warren Bennis (1989) who posits leaders are not made by themselves rather than by external means. Such people have no interest in proving themselves rather expressing themselves. Leaders know who they are and have no problem with self-identity. Nevertheless any one can become a leader with proper training, however the innate qualities of leadership will determine how successful that leader becomes.
